Anti-Financial Crime Business Data Analyst

Location: New York   Sectors Change Management  

The person filling this role will primarily be responsible for supporting the day to day AFC Americas Data Governance functions and remediation activities, therefore responsible for business and data analysis, ensuring proper tracking, escalation, stakeholder management and understanding of all data issues and challenges.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Support the AFC T&R Data team with the AFC Americas Data Governance implementation
  • Own and execute the day to day oversight of AFC Data Issues
  • Support the day-to-day operational functions of data management, ensuring Data Principles and Policies are adhered to within the AFC domain scope
  • Analyze and document data remediation actions
  • Liaise with business, legal, compliance, AFC, business and technology stakeholders
  • Conduct requirements gathering, and manage BRDs through the review and sign off process and ensure they are complete and accurate
  • Support the program managers with the delivery of the project by taking ownership of specific project deliverables and work closely with the other project BA’s if cross functional project
  • Support the engagement for data program initiatives to enable AFC to adopt the Bank’s data strategy and enable adoption and implementation of the Data Policies
  • Work closely with Data Owners and the Data Consumers to ensure efficient data management operations within their units that directly affect AFC
  • Undertake data quality issue root cause analysis and data remediation activities
  • Identify and document CDEs within the Data Domain owned by AFC, working closely with the relevant Data Consumers
  • Support the documentation of the consolidated business requirements for the CDEs owned by AFC
  • Maintain day to day risks and issues, and escalate as required to the Program Director, Project Manager and PMO
  • Assist in the management of project dashboards, project plans, and communication to stakeholders of project status
  • Own the analysis tasks and actions to address data quality issues and to achieve necessary data quality levels
  • In cases where data is sourced from external parties or services from other internal domains, work with the relevant Business Domains
  • Ensure data quality monitoring takes place and performance against data quality requirements is properly reported
  • Escalate to the GDC any data issues that do not fall within its individual remit

Experience/Exposure:

  • Previous relevant experience with delivering projects in the Financial Services industry, preferably in the area of AFC Compliance
  • Ability to absorb information quickly and link related topics
  • Experienced in effectively communicating with and positively influencing project stakeholders and team members
  • Excellent verbal and written English and ability to tailor communication to various audiences
  • Must have a keen eye for detail with a focus on quality control
  • Ability to influence key project resources without direct reporting responsibility
  • Proven ability to effectively assess and mitigate project risks and dependencies
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be a team player; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet competing/changing deadlines
  • Desire to learn new content and understand the regulation so enable effective challenge of design effectiveness

Education/Certification:

Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university
