A multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund are looking to make a newly created hire to support its senior management team.
The remit of the role is broad, however in its simplest sense the hire will take control of new capabilities / new business. This will include the development of new business initiatives (new asset classes, new strategies, onboarding new investment teams etc.), coordinating new launches / new business and putting new structures in place. Value-add, the hire should look to review / develop existing structures, processes and infrastructure. Commercial responsibilities will grow significantly as you develop in the role, for example having the autonomy to negotiate contracts with suppliers, make changes, source new solutions etc.
The role provides an incredible opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the senior management team of a market leading hedge fund, developing a skill set that will allow him/her to become a future buy-side COO. That said, the role can also provide a platform for the hire to move internally into a variety of other areas, most notably front office.
Candidates must have top class academic profiles (ideally first-class STEM degrees), with roughly 5yrs post-graduate experience as a management consultant, at a leading consultant firm. Candidates holding an MBA will be at an advantage.
The role will offer a base salary that provides an attractive step-up from what the individual is currently earning. A top performer will receive a large % of his/her base as a year-end bonus. We can consider sign-on/bonus guarantees in order to secure the very best talent pre-bonus.
