A global hedge fund are looking to make a newly created European COO hire, in to its London office.
Reporting into the managing partners of the firm, the hire will join a well developed firm, that have achieved excellent performance (including double digit European returns during 2020), at a time when the London office is in expansion mode. The non-investment function is developed in operations/middle office, but it requires a build out in finance, compliance, legal and HR – the COO should therefore have experience of wearing many hats / a ‘jack of all trades’ perhaps. You will also manage technology. We expect that the hire’s role/remit will look very different in 2yrs time, hence why an attractive equity partnership platform is being offered, assuming the individual grows successfully alongside the firm’s European business arm.
We are looking for an existing hedge fund COO. There is a strong preference for a junior level COO, looking to step up at a larger firm / buildout, albeit you should ideally have good experience working for a boutique size firm.
The role will most likely offer a year one guaranteed package within the 200-300k GBP range (split between base and bonus). We expect the package to exceed this banding by year 3, especially if equity partnership is achieved.
