My client is a $1bl+ hedge fund based in London looking for an associate to take on a dual investor relations and sales role.
The new hire will join a lean marketing team with a global investor remit. They will have dual investor relations and sales responsibilities. The investor relations element is varied and very client facing involving everything from managing relationships with investors, going to investor meetings, conferences, creating marketing materials.
The asset raising element will increase over time. Currently the head of sales is alone covering only the largest investors, globally. The new hire will be able to build their own book of business and if they are successful, eventually transition to a full-time fundraising role.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing business, which has been raising a lot of capital and is looking to launch new funds.
The right individual will have at least 2 years of experience in investor relations/ relationship management for a hedge fund or asset manager. It is important for someone to have strong relationship management skills. While an asset raising track record or a book of clients are not required, someone will need to demonstrate that they can cold call, prospect clients, network, and step up outside of their comfort zone. Moreover, someone should have a strong desire to learn the firm’s strategy and talk about it to a high level of detail with investors. Experience with hedge fund strategies and a good understanding of the market is helpful.
The role will most likely pay a 70k base salary. A top performer can earn a large % of their base as a bonus payment.
