The non-investment team currently consists of a COO and an operations analyst. The firm are looking for an additional operations analyst in response to business growth + as the current incumbent is moving more towards front office (having been in the role 2yrs, he is now more focused on modelling options/trade hedging and risk management) - we prefer that the new hire takes on main ownership over the full operations/middle office remit (to allow for his continued progression). The new hire will have a strong focus on project work, mainly connected to process improvement, automation etc. We prefer to hire an individual with strong technical skills, or a desire to learn VBA. Daily responsibilities cover operations, fund accounting/MO (P&L and NAV analysis), trader assistant and treasury tasks. Due to outsourced processes, work is typically focused on analysis, producing results that go straight to the desk/senior management (rather than standard processing). Furthermore, the hire will be given great autonomy over currency trades.
Candidates should have a strong academic profile, displaying clear numerical skills. The preferred candidate would have 3yrs IB/hedge fund operations experience, but there is flexibility. The individual must have a true passion for financial markets. VBA skills are preferred, but not necessarily a pre-requisite.
The firm look after their staff extremely well. For example, in his second year, the current operations analyst comfortably earned a six-figure comp package (we are highly confident that his comp will not have been ‘bettered’ by an 2nd year individual working for a competitor fund!) + he is moving in to a new role/remit. There is also a very positive, driven working environment.
