A multi-billion dollar AUM global hedge fund are looking to make a Trader Assistant hire for its expanding London office.
The TA role is part of front office (the middle office/operations team are a completely separate). The hire will report directly in to a Head Trader. The hire will be the sole trader assistant in the European office, with responsibility for a core TA remit (50%) + managing/co-ordinating front office deal pipeline. The hire will directly support every investment professional within the firm’s flagship fund. Whereas my client is focused on the hire developing themselves on this role (potentially hiring a junior in time), they are not averse to hiring an ambitious individual that has aspirations to become a trader in the future.
The new hire will need to be someone of a very high numerical calibre, with strong communication skills, a high level of energy, commitment and drive. We would prefer the candidate to have had previous experience working within a Hedge fund or Investment bank, perhaps in operaitons/middle office and looking for a new challenge, or a current trader assistant looking for a role that is purely front office focused. You should be a self-starter, reliable and a critical thinker. Previous working knowledge of Bloomberg/Charles river would be seen as very helpful.
The firm is known as a fantastic place to work both in terms of working hours and financially. A top performing candidate can aim to earn a six-figure comp package in this role if they achieve the maximum bonus. The hiring manager typically works 8am-530pm and you would be given the same hours if your work was up to date and to a high standard.
