This multi-strategy hedge fund is an established firm and expanding fund that has a consistently strong performance of the last decade. Following a restructure and relocation of its head office from the US to London, the business now requires somebody to head up the finance function in Europe. As part of the remit, this individual will also be asked to cover the operations function in the absence of the COO.
BAU responsibilities for Europe include;
*responsible for Fund / NAV accounting reconciliation with the Administrators,
*assisting with the annual audits of the Funds
*analyzing FX hedging
*helping resolve trade breaks
*interacting with prime brokers
*booking trades and corporate actions
*oversight daily P&L
*Trader Assistant work
*assisting tax professionals with fund tax filings
* special projects.
The role would suit an established fund accountant who is looking for a step-up in responsibility, the opportunity to build a team and a broader operational remit than just finance. You will be a qualified accountant and ideally have been working in a hedge fund for 4-10 years. It’s a good opportunity for anybody without the opportunity of progression in their business to step out of the shadows to have ownership of their own function. In the near future, the COO/CFO would look to relinquish the CFO title to this individual.
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong fund accounting experience
- Some operations experience (preferable)
- A strong communicator with leadership potential
- Strong technical skills (desire to automate and drive efficiency)
