Head of Portfolio Monitoring, Real Estate Investment Manager (Family Office-Backed)
A real estate investment manager, backed by a single family office, engaged us to identify a senior hire to establish and lead a portfolio monitoring function from the ground up. As the firm began to institutionalise and broaden its investor base beyond its founding capital, there was a clear need to build out the reporting and analytics infrastructure required to meet the expectations of incoming institutional LPs.
The role required a candidate who could operate as both a builder and a practitioner, capable of designing and implementing a portfolio monitoring framework while also being hands-on across performance reporting, data management, and investor-facing analytics. A key focus of the brief was experience with dashboarding and data visualisation tools, as the firm was looking to develop scalable, technology-enabled reporting capabilities to support its growth.
Given the firm's real estate focus, we concentrated our search on candidates with direct experience across real estate fund structures and an understanding of relevant valuation and performance metrics. Strong preference was given to individuals who had previously built or significantly developed a monitoring function, ideally within a growing or transitioning platform, and who were comfortable operating in a leaner, more entrepreneurial environment.
We successfully placed a Head of Portfolio Monitoring from an established real estate fund manager, where they had played a central role in overhauling the firm's reporting infrastructure and implementing a suite of dashboarding and visualisation tools across the portfolio.

Chief Financial Officer, Credit-Focused Investment Manager (~$6bn AUM)
A specialist credit manager with approximately $6bn in AUM sought to appoint a CFO. The firm operates across a range of private and liquid credit strategies and manages multiple fund structures, creating a complex financial and operational environment requiring senior leadership with genuine breadth across fund finance, investor reporting, and regulatory oversight.
The search required a candidate who could operate as both a strategic business partner to the CEO and a hands-on leader across finance, tax, treasury, and fund operations. Given the firm's multi-strategy and multi-structure profile, we focused on individuals with experience spanning both private credit and liquid or traded credit environments, and who had navigated the demands of a scaling platform. Strong preference was given to candidates with audit-trained foundations combined with subsequent in-house experience at established credit or alternative asset managers.
We successfully placed a CFO from a comparable specialist credit manager, where they had built and led the finance function through a period of significant AUM growth and product expansion.
