This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for managing a small but high-calibre fund control team, while working closely with the COO and investment professionals. The role carries full accountability for fund accounting and NAV oversight, valuation governance, capital activity, reconciliations, and the delivery of accurate, timely investor and management reporting. You will act as the main point of contact for external service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring best-in-class standards and a smooth audit and reporting process.
Beyond core fund control, the role plays a key part in shaping how the firm operates as it scales. This includes contributing to valuation committees, strengthening internal controls, supporting regulatory and investor due diligence, and providing operational resilience across middle office and corporate finance activities. A strong emphasis is placed on process improvement and automation, with a focus on enhancing data flows between front, middle, and back office and continuously improving the efficiency and robustness of reporting and control frameworks.
The firm is seeking an academically strong, qualified accountant with deep experience in hedge funds or alternative asset management. Candidates should have a strong technical grounding in fund structures, valuation principles, and financial reporting standards, alongside the gravitas and communication skills to operate credibly with senior stakeholders internally and externally. Prior experience delivering automation or systems enhancement projects is also highly desirable.
The role offers a highly competitive compensation package, with total compensation in the region of £200k–£300k depending on experience (though more likely £250TC). They have modern offices in Mayfair and are in most days.
